Willodean Pogue passed away from this life on September 20, 2024, at the age of 88, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Willodean was born in Lead Hill, Arkansas, on May 20, 1936. She was the daughter of William and Maudine (Wilson) Kelley. Willodean grew up in Arkansas and later moved with her family to Iowa, completing her high school in Bettendorf, Iowa, graduating from LeClaire High School with the Class of 1954. Following high school, she married Dale Littrel, and to that union, there was one son, Kevin Dale. Following the death of Dale in 1957, Willodean was united in marriage to Jim Pogue in 1959, and to that union, there are two sons, Jimmy Dean and Kelley Lynn. Following their marriage, Jim and Willodean established their home in Cleveland, where they have continued to reside for the past 65 years.
Willodean was a homemaker raising her three sons in Cleveland, Oklahoma. She loved helping others in need and was a First Assembly of God Church member. She worked for many years helping her son Jimmy with Pogue Electric and spent many hours helping her husband Jim in his construction and remodeling career. Willodean enjoyed and loved caring for her grandchildren and celebrating birthdays and holidays with family. Willodean walked daily on the walking trail. In their retirement years, Jim and Dean could visit friends almost daily at their favorite restaurant in Cleveland, the Hickory House.
Survivors are Jim, three sons, Kevin Littrel and wife Becky, Jimmy Pogue and his wife Brenda, Kelley Pogue and wife Gwyn; four grandchildren Lynnette McKelvey, Ashleigh Carter, Jamie Lewis, Haley Howard; great grandchildren Hannah, Faith, Nora, Adley, Gunner, Grayson, Gage, two special nieces Anita Moore and Sherita Flynn of Bettendorf, Iowa and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Willodean was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, and five siblings, Bonnie Jean Pope, Kirby Wayne Kelley, Hubert Wilson Kelley, Kenneth Edwin Kelley, and Clydine Kelley.
Family will receive friends and family Wednesday evening September 25, 2024, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the Woodland Cemetery with Rev. Dan Edens officiating services.
