Willis Keith Hall, 82, of Osage, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017, at the Cleveland Area Hospital.
Willis was born May 1, 1935, in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He was the son of Bert William and Martha Elizabeth (Renfro) Hall. Willis was raised and received his education in Wetumka where he graduated from high school. He then began working in the pipeline industry later united in marriage on October 6, 1955, to the love of his life Thadeene Crelia. The couple established their initial home in Wetumka. Willis was later drafted into the service of his country and served valiantly in the United States Army. They were then transferred to Virginia Beach, Virginia and after that upon his honorable discharge in 1958, returned to the Holdenville area. In October of 1973, Willis and Dee moved their family to Osage, Oklahoma where they have continued to reside. Willis loved his community and always said that it was home.
During his working years, Willis traveled all over the United States as well as overseas in the construction of pipelines. He retired several times but always seemed to return to work soon after retirement. Once retired Willis enjoyed collecting knives and working cattle. He also found his church home at the Osage Baptist Church and strived to be in church every time the doors were open. He also enjoyed helping Dee in the garden as well as sitting on the front porch shelling peas or just enjoying the weather. Weekends were a time for Willis to find hidden treasures at garage sales. Of course, his daily routine usually was a trip to the post office where he would visit with friends. As the day would come to an end, he would sit in his chair enjoying a coke float or one of Dee’s incredible desserts.
Willis would often comment that he wasn’t one of the ten bests. Because he always got nine Christmas cards and struggled to get ten. He made numerous lifelong friends that held a special place in his heart. No matter where Willis was his family was at the center of everything he did. They were the most essential part of his life.
Survivors are his loving wife Dee of the home, three children Billy Wayne Hall of Osage, Oklahoma, Kathryn Sue Sparks and her husband Pete of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Roxie Rochelle Williams of Collinsville, Oklahoma; sister in law Ree Crelia of Guthrie, Oklahoma; one grandchild Candice St. Cyr and her husband Rick of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; two great grandchildren Kaitlin and Maddie both of Kingfisher, Oklahoma as well as many other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. Willis was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Dale, Joe, Lee and Clifford Hall; sister Aline Arnold; one son in law Kenny Williams and a niece Sherry Hall.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Osage with Pastor Keith Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Osage Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com.
