William Thomas Lomax was born November 16, 1981 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late James Paul Lomax, Jr. and Sissy Lomax. William moved with his family at the age of two on a ranch near Claremore, Oklahoma where he was raised. He attended school in Owasso and graduated from Owasso High School in 2000.
William was a self-taught musician and especially enjoyed Christian music. He was a member of a rock group for a while but spent most of his time playing contemporary Christian music. His hobbies included model cars and trains. William was a member of the Family Worship Center in Pawnee.
William passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of twenty-two years, eleven months and seventeen days. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Jason Wade Lomax and a grandfather, James Paul Lomax, Sr.
William is survived by his mother, Cissy Lomax of the home; four sisters, Lenora Gaskey of Pawnee, Oklahoma, Denise Ford of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Debbie Battles of Owasso, Oklahoma and Amanda Lomax of Pawnee, Oklahoma; two brothers, Howard Lomax of Houston, Texas and Sgt. James Anderson, United States Army, Savannah, Georgia; and a grandmother, Alene Lomax of Claremore, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 5, 2004 at the Woodland Cemetery Chapel in Cleveland with Pastor Ricky Edwards officiating. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
