William Theodore Perry, better known as “Ted” passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at the age of 78 years, seven months and nineteen days.
Ted was born June 26, 1936, in Osage, Oklahoma. He was the son of William Melton and Pearl Sue (Daniels) Perry. As a young boy Ted grew up and received his education in Osage where he later graduated from high school. Following high school Ted joned the United States Army. He served his country honorably and was later discharged and returned to the area. In 1961, Ted was united in marriage to Mildred Halcumb in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. During the time the Keystone Lake was being built, Ted worked for the railroad helping build the trestle between Cleveland and Osage as well as the installation of train tracks in the area. In 1963, Ted accepted employment with Fibercast in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. On November 17, 1973, Ted was united in marriage to Beverly Sharpnack. Ted continued working at Fibercast and was the quality control inspector when he retired in 1997.
Ted was an avid reader, especially western novels and enjoyed working Sudoku Puzzles. His other passion was raising and breeding fighting chickens. At one time Ted had in excess of 400 chickens. Ted was formerly the Mayor and City Council member of Osage.
Survivors are his wife Bo of the home, five children Julie Perry of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Christina Woodward of Oilton, Oklahoma, Roy Sanders and his wife Debbie of Osge, Oklahoma, Tammy Dobson and her husband Tommy of Osage, Oklahoma, Kimball "Goober" Sanders and his wife Kim of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three sisters Zeta Roberts of Moore, Oklahoma, Neoma Galinitas of Indiana, Leona Enloe and her husband Wayne of Skiatook, Oklahoma; eleven grand children; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson and numerous other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. Ted was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, February 19, 2015, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie McGrew officiating. Burial will be held privately in the Osage Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
