William Ray Ratliff better known as ìBillyî was born April 9, 1937 in Fairfax, Oklahoma the son of Emmitt and Blanche (Foreman) Ratliff. As a young man Billy grew up in Fairfax where he completed his education. He then began working in the oil field and continued to work in the oil industry through out Oklahoma. In the early 1970Ãs Billy moved his family to Woodward where they lived until 1979. At that time they moved to the Hominy area. While living in this area Billy also lived in Wynona and Osage. In 1991, Billy moved to Hominy, Oklahoma where he has continued to reside. Billy had lastly worked as a pumper in Osage County for Belport.
Billy Ray Ratliff passed away December 8, 2007 in Cushing, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years 7 months and 29 days. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers Carl Jasper Ratliff, H.L. Ratliff and granddaughter Trudy Ratliff.
Survived by his children, Bill Ratliff and wife Terri of Woodward, Oklahoma; Fred Ratliff and wife Brenda of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Charlie Ratliff and wife Karen of Wynona, Oklahoma; Greg Ratliff and wife Hope of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Joe Ratliff and wife Tara of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two brothers, Clarence Ratliff and wife Terri of Grand Junction, Colorado; Dean Ratliff and wife Mary of Hominy , Oklahoma; two sisters, Lavon of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Jean Dyer of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held December 13, 2007 at 2:00 pm at A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery officiated by Rev. David Head. Burial will be at A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
