William Nauss

William Nauss, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, passed away at his home in Cleveland on Friday, November 17, 2017, at the age of 79 years old.

Bill was born June 11, 1938, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of William Dickens Nauss and Jewel (Long) Nauss. Bill began his education in Tulsa and later graduated from Tulsa Central High School. Following high school, Bill remained in Tulsa and was then united in marriage to Patricia Bradley on June 12, 1961. The couple established their initial home in the Dallas/Fort Worth. During this time Bill drove a truck and later returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1969. He soon gained employment as an apartment maintenance man before returning to driving a truck. He worked local however the majority of his working years Bill worked as a long-haul driver. In 1988, Bill began working for Cannon Construction where he worked until he retired in 2009. In 2005, Bill and Patricia moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma where he has continued to reside.

Bill enjoyed going camping and fishing with his family. Bill spent many hours around the home just tinkering or working on things. He and Patricia would often on the spur of the moment start moving furniture and begin painting the room. Spending quality time with family and especially his grandchildren was very important to him. Nothing was too complicated for him to fix and very rarely called someone to fix it. Family events were very special to Bill.

Survivors are his two sons, Ronnie L. Nauss of Cleveland, Oklahoma and David L. Nauss of Cleveland, Oklahoma; daughter, Cindy Holman of Cleveland, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren: Amanda Philpot, Jennifer Garson, Heather Wilson, Ronnie Nauss, Jr., Billy Nauss, Keith Holman, Justin Holman, Tyler Nauss, Matthew Nauss, Jesse Nauss; and thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife Patricia in 2015 as well as one sister Mildred Nauss.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Edens officiating. Burial will conclude in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com or from 6 pm till 8 pm on Monday at Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
