William Joseph Bryant, known to his friends and family as Joe passed from this life on Monday, January 19, 2015, at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 56 years.
Joe was born December 25, 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son Billy Joe and Carole Joyce (Dunegan) Bryant. As a young boy Joe began his education in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family later moved to Hallett when Joe was in the third grade. Joe attended school in Cleveland where he completed his education. At that time Joe began helping his father at Porta-John the family business. Joe worked with his father and family to establish a viable and growing business. On November 5, 1994, Joe was united in marriage to Vicki Lee Dillon. The two established their home in Tulsa where they have continued to reside. In 2000, when Bill began to slow down Joe took over the reins of the company and continued the operations.
Joe was an adventurist. He enjoyed riding motorcycle which was also a family sporting event. Joe loved going to Colorado with his family and boon docking which was usually a yearly event. During the time he was growing up the family visited every fresh water spring in Oklahoma. They would also go on nature walks throughout the state as well. Golfing was also a passion of Joe he would travel many hours just to play a round of golf. Later in life Joe made a lifelong commitment. Following his commitment, Joe became a speaker for Alcoholics Anonymous and traveled extensively speaking as well as sponsoring numerous individuals to help overcome alcoholism.
Survivors are his wife Vicki of the home, three children Shawn and Susan Bradley of Tyler, Texas, Travis and Jenny Bradley of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Scott and Jennifer Leard of Ben Wheeler, Texas; parents Billy and Joyce Bryant of Hallett, Oklahoma; five siblings Mark Alan Bryant of Hallett, Oklahoma, Kathryn Rene Kidd of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jeannie Ontiveros of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Terry Dean Bryant of Hallett, Oklahoma, Crissy Ford of Hallett, Oklahoma; four grandchildren Elijah Bradley, Evelyn Bradley, Krista Leard, Colt Leard and numerous other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Sylvia Gains, William B. Bryant and maternal grandparents Leotha and George Dunegan.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, January 23, 2015, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Father Bruce Brosnahan presiding. The body will be cremated and later interred in the Hallett Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
