Willadean Cullison

Willadean Cullison, of Osage, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the 87. Willadean was born April 6, 1921 in Prue, Oklahoma the daughter of William Claude and Nettie Elizabeth (House) Sutterfield. As a young girl Willadean grew up in Prue where she later graduated Prue High School with the Class of 1939. After high school Willadean began working for Gladys Boone at the local store in Prue. After several months working at the store Willadean was introduced to Floyd Edgar Cullison. She began working for him as a house cleaner and taking care of his children after his wife passed away. They were later united in marriage in Pawhuska, Oklahoma on November 12, 1942. After their marriage they made their intial home on an oil lease near Prue. Willadean and Floyd continued to reside there for several years before moving to another oil camp near Osage. In 1960, they moved to town where she was presently living. After moving to Osage Willadean began working at the school cafeteria for a short time before accepting employment with Munsing Wear as a seamstress. In the mid 1960's, Willadean then began working at Cooks Grocery Store in Cleveland where she worked for over 10 years. She then began working at Woody's Corner at the convenience store until the mid 1980's. Willadean then began reading meters in the city of Osage as well as collecting payments on the accounts for many years before retiring.

Willadean enjoyed watching sports on television especially baseball. She was also an avid Dallas Cowboy and Sooner Fan. Mrs. Cullison also spent many hours working in her garden. She loved planting flowers and was well known for her tomatoes. Willadean was a faithful member of the Osage Baptist Church for numerous years.

Survivors include her son Tom Cullison and his wife Judy of San Antonio, Texas, one brother Leonard Sutterfield and wife Hazel of Tulsa, Oklahoma, three sisters Betty Fearn of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Helen Dill of Mannford, Oklahoma, Carol Johnson and her husband Derias of Osage, Oklahoma; two grandsons Todd Cullison and his wife Audra of Odessa, Texas; Matthew Cullison of Dallas, Texas; two great grandchildren Allison Brooke and Quinton Thomas Cullison as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents Willadean was was preceded in death by two brothers Ulis Sutterfield and Clifton Douglas Sutterfield.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 17, 2008 in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dean Switzer officiating. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm Wednesday evening or online at www.chapman-black.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
