Wiley Ray Stockton

Wiley Ray Stockton was born January 17, 1937 in Mounds, Oklahoma. He was the son of Nettie Viola Morris and Charlie Wiley Stockton. Wiley moved frequently during his childhood as his family followed work in coal mines throughout the country.

Upon graduation from high school, Wiley worked as a cook for most of his life until for medical reasons was forced to retire. During his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his best friend and brother-in-law, Hal George. Wiley enjoyed reading Western and Mystery novels and was expecially fond of the Utah/Montana area of the country.

He moved to the Jennings/Pawnee area of Okalhoma in 1997 from Deming, New Mexico. He enjoyed visiting with his friends at the Maramec Senior Citizens Center and the Hickory House in Cleveland. He has resided with his niece and her husband, Paul and Teraca Sowinski in Maramec for the past couple of years. He recently moved to the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home.

Wiley passed away on Friday, September 23, 2005 at the Pawnee Municipal Hospital at the age of sixty-eight years, eight months and six days. He was preceded in death by both parents, his step-father, Melvin Morris and a brother-in-law, Hal George.

He is survived by five sisters, Mary George, Lebanon, Missouri, Sue Roberts, Corning, California, Ruth Green, Bowling Green, Missouri, Patty Brooks, Sacremento, California and Shirley Stowe, Escondido, California; five brothers, Jay Falcons, Daytona Beach, Florida, Bob Morris, California, Mack Morris, Grants Pass, Oregon, Raymond Morris, Lincoln, Rhode Island and Melvin Morris, Jr., niece and her husband, Teraca and Paul Sowinski, Maramec, Oklahoma; and various other nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a memorial service is planned for 3:30 pm, Saturday, October 1, 2005 at the hospitality room at the Hickory House in Cleveland. Arrangement were under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
