Wesley Brandon Florer, 54, lifelong Cleveland area resident, passed away Monday, December 24, 2007 at the Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa.
Brandon was born October 23, 1953 in Hominy, Oklahoma. He was the son of Darrell Wesley Florer and A. Lou (Roller) Florer. Brandon was raised in Terlton, attending Terlton school throught the eight grade. He then attended high school in Cleveland, graduating from Cleveland High School in 1971. He was a member of the Cleveland Tiger Basketball team until a knee injury sidelined him.
Upon completion of his education, he worked at several different jobs until he began working for Donray Advertising in the late 1970's. He then began working in the assembly area of the company until his medical retirement in 1988.
Brandon was given the gift of life in 1996 when he received a kidney transplant. He remained active after his transplant as he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Brandon was a member of the First Baptist Church in Terlton where he attended regulary with his mother. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Wesley Florer in 1998.
He is survived by his son, Brandon Lee Florer of Mesa, Arizona; granddaughter, Amy Astana Florer of Mesa, Arizona; mother, Lou Florer of Cleveland, Oklahoma; brother, Darrell Todd Florer of Cleveland, Oklahoma; numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Terlton with Rev. Dale Gowdy officiating. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rusty Evans, Gene Warner, Mike Brower, Lee Brower, Jack Cummins and Terry Roller.
