Wanda Lee Hollon

Wanda Lee Hollon was born August 23, 1944 in Bixby, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Corby and Inez Adams. Wanda was raised and attended school in the Liberty Mounds and Bixby area. She went to elementary school in Liberty Mounds and then to the Bixby School System where she graduated from Bixby High School in 1962.

Upon graduation from high school, Wanda accepted employment with Adams Life Insurance Company and then the First National Bank in Tulsa for a couple of years. Wanda was married to Dan Hollon on August 15, 1964 in Bixby. After the birth of their son, Chris, Wanda stayed home for a couple of years and then accepted employment with City Service Company. The company later changed to Oxy USA and Wanda worked as a secretary and administrative assistance for over twenty-six years. She then accepted employment with the Williams Company in Tulsa before retiring in 2002.

Wanda was a member of the Mannford Christian Fellowship Church. She loved sewing and quilting and also liked to read. Her favorite pastime, however, was spending time with her family.

Wanda passed away on Monday, August 21, 2006 at her home near Mannford at the age of sixty-one years, eleven months and twenty-eight days. She was preceded in death by her father and an infant brother.

She is survived by her husband, Dan Hollon, of the home; son and his wife, Chris and Christi Hollon of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Allie and Anna Hollon of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; mother, Inez Adams of Mannford, Oklahoma; four brothers, Wayne Adams of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Bob Adams of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mike Adams of Little Rock, Arkansas and Jimmy Adams of Bixby, Oklahoma; two sisters, Joan Roberts of Mannford, Oklahoma and Patty Elsass of Dallas, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 24, 2006, at the Mannford Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Steve Quinelly officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Elsass, James Renfroe, Mike Adams, Nick Carrol, Gary Graham and Matt Adams.
