Funeral services for Virginia Crowson will be held Thursday, April 22, 2004 at 2:00 pm in the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Tulsa, Oklahoma with services officiated by Dakota Rush. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. of Cleveland, Oklahoma

Virginia Marie Crowson, was born April 1, 1920 in Guymon, Oklahoma to William Glenn and Martha Any (Rhoton) Stoops. As a young girl Virginia was raised and received her education in the Guymon area. Soon after her graduation from high school Virginia attended college at Panhandle State University. She then moved to Tulsa and began working at Wigwam Bakery. While employed with Wigwam Virginia met Bobby Earl Crowson. On January 3, 1945 Virginia and Bobby were united in marriage in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

Upon Bobbyís return from World War II they moved to Bristow and soon to Drumright and later to Blackwell before finally making their home in Oklahoma City in 1966. They remained in Oklahoma City for over 30 years before moving to Cleveland in 1997.

Virginia loved to play bridge and was a member of a bridge club while living in Oklahoma City. She also loved to visit Branson and attended the live performances as well as traveling and shopping.

Virginia passed away Sunday April 18, 2004 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years and 17 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bobby in 1999.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Linda and her husband Gary Brewster of Cleveland, Oklahoma; son Dan and his wife Brenna Crowson of Raleigh, North Carolina; three grandchildren Amy Damron of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Bobby Christopher Crowson of Raleigh, North Carolina; Chelsea Ann Crowson of Raleigh, North Carolina; sister Dorothy Wright of Guymon, Oklahoma; brother Bob and his wife Joyce Stoops of Tulsa, Oklahoma as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Renal Kidney Failure at: 525 N.E. 13th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73104 or by visiting online at www.omrf.org.
