Virginia Ann Garcia, lifelong Cleveland area resident, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Maplewood Care Center in Tulsa at the age of sixty-six. Virginia was born in the Oak Grove area of Pawnee County, Oklahoma on January 17, 1945. She was the daughter of Ancil and Wilma (Peterman) Gray. Virginia was raised in the Oak Grove/Keystone area and attended school there until she transferred to Cleveland Public Schools, graduating from Cleveland High School in 1963. Shortly after graduation, Virginia attended beauty college in Tulsa and obtained her license as a cosmetologist in the State of Oklahoma. Virginia was married to Vicente R. Garcia on August 10, 1966. She worked in numerous hair styling salons in the area before accepting employment as a mail clerk at St. John Medical Center in 1983. The couple had two children, Randy and Dana, raising them in the Cleveland area near Old Keystone. Virginia continued working at the St. John Medical Center until her retirement after seventeen years of service in 2000. Virginia was described by her family as a loving and humble wife, mother and grandmother always placing the needs of others above her own. She was always happy with a smile on her face and was extremely industrious, remaining active throughout her life trying to help those around her. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She loved the outdoors and spent countless hours fishing, spending time at the lake, camping and sitting on the swing with her mother, Wilma. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and just having the family together. For many years, she and Vicente enjoyed attending races at the Tulsa Speedway and attending RandyÃs wrestling matches in school she also enjoyed listening to Randy karaoke. She also liked to dance to the likes of Ernest Tubb and Bob Willis music. She was a longtime member of the Kingdom Hall of the JehovahÃs Witnesses in Cleveland. Virginia was baptized on June 18, 1994 she was active in the door to door ministry sharing with others her hope for the future. She is survived by her husband Vicente Garcia of the home; son and his wife, Randy V. and Shari Garcia of Cleveland, Oklahoma; daughter and her husband, Dana and Darren Dooley of Cleveland, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Ashlee Dooley, Brittany and her husband, Jake Sheridan, and Whitney Dooley; mother, Wilma Lillie Gray of Cleveland, Oklahoma and a brother David and his wife, Becky Gray of Houston, Texas, She was preceded in death by her father, Ancil Gray. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses in Sand Springs with Roger Miller officiating. Burial will be at the Sinnett Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
