Viola Floydean Henley, known as “Dean” was called to be with her Lord and Savior on June 3, 2024, at 80.
Dean was born October 21, 1943, the daughter of Floyd and Ivene (Lay) Henley. Dean was a longtime resident of the Osage County area. She graduated from Wynona High School.
Dean’s travels took her north to Montana, where she was employed by the Eureka Bank and managed a Golf Resort Restaurant. Her adventures took her north to southeast Alaska, where she acquired a commercial fishing license and a 42 foot boat, the ‘Fanny Mae.’ Dean met many interesting fishermen while she was there and had many fun and dangerous stories to share. After Dean’s fishing career, she moved back to the Pawhuska area and opened a Secondhand Store called ‘The MagPie.’ She then became a dedicated caregiver to family members and neighbors in need. Dean was known for her heartfelt compassion and caring love.
Dean’s strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ kept her active in the Pershing Victory Baptist Church, serving as treasurer, helping to prepare the sermons, and serving wherever needed. She will be remembered by many for her beautiful singing voice and lifting praises to the Lord.
Dean leaves behind many loved ones, too numerous to list. Relatives in the area are the Lay Family, the Rogers family, and the Yarbrough family.
Dean will be laid to rest beside her mother and father at the Prue Prairie View Cemetery.
We Love You, Dean – You Will Be Missed.
