Viola Elizabeth Meyer

Viola Elizabeth Horton Meyer, passed away on Sunday March 26, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years old.

Viola was born September 9, 1941 in Wayne County, Michigan. She was the daughter of Allen and Faye (Knight) Hatfield. As a young girl, Bobbie was raised and received her education in Taylor, Michigan. Following the completion of her education Bobbie remained in Taylor until she was united in marriage to Melvis Ray Horton on March 20, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan. The couple later moved to Lawton, Oklahoma in 1976 where they remained until they moved to Prue, Oklahoma. Following the death of Mel, Bobbie was united in marriage to Lloyd Meyer on March 6, 2009.

Bobbie worked for Gatesway for many years and then later for CSC. She also worked for over 15 years at Volunteer of America. Bobbie had a special place in her heart for those with special needs. She loved each one of them dearly and devoted many hours and days to help them any way possible. Bobbie was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Prue. She loved the times with her family and grandchildren who she loved dearly

Survivors are her husband Lloyd of the home; one brother Alan Hatfield of Arizona, twin sister Jackie Dixon of Michigan, son Virgil Traster and his wife Valerie of Prue, Oklahoma, daughter Jill Westfall and her husband Dennis of Fort Smith, Arkansas, other children Ellen Gray of Amarillo, Texas, Sam Horton of Hominy, Oklahoma, Doug Horton of Osage, Oklahoma, Angie Oglesby of Russellville, Kentucky, Lloyd Meyer, Jr of Prue, Oklahoma, Kim Wines of Pinckney, Michigan, and many precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents and husband Mel.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Prairie View Cemetery in Prue, Oklahoma. Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.chapman-black.com. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will oversee the arrangements.
