Vingie Lee Ward

Vingie Lee Ham. and her twin brother, Virgil, were born July 16th, 1922 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They were the son and daughter of Charles Ham and Opal Ramey.

In 1925, the family, which also included two older sisters, Oma and Lelia, moved to Jennings, Oklahoma. Vingie was raised in Jennings and graduated from Jennings High School in 1939.

Shortly after graduation from high school, Vingie married A. D. Ward on June 10th, 1939 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. For most of Vingieís life, the couple made their home in Jennings. For approximately 20 years, they owned and operated the Jennings Hardware Store and Feed Store. Vingie helped start and was a member of the Grace Gospel Church and faithfully attended there until she was no longer able to do so. She loved reading and studying the Bible and attending church events and revivals. Vingieís life revolved around her church and her family, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
