Vernon Leo Youtsey, 66, passed from this life on January 9, 2022, in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Leo was born on November 22, 1955, in Pawnee, Oklahoma the son of Leo Tillman and Lucretia Ceanne (Whiles) Youtsey. Leo grew up in the Terlton area where he began kindergarten. His sixth-grade year Leo began attending school in Cleveland, later graduating with the Class of 1974. During his time in high school Leo was active in baseball and football and was awarded several accolades. After high school Leo began working as a welder's helper at a local union. He worked on the Alaskan Pipeline which was the beginning of his career. Leo worked throughout the United States traveling to nearly every state. On September 5, 1993, Leo was united in marriage to Carla Brown in Miami, Oklahoma. Leo was a member of the Pipeliners Local 798 Union for over 30 years retiring in 2019.

Leo always enjoyed being outdoors, skiing when he was younger, going fishing and later in life playing golf. Traveling was also something he like doing. While working this would often give him a reason to take the family to places in the local area. Leo is described as a strong willed, loving, strong, giving person with a ornery side. Being around others is what he always enjoyed. Most of all he loved being a husband, dad and Pa to his grandson Jacob who meant the world to him.

Leo was an avid and huge fan of the Oklahoma Sooners; he just recently returned from the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas cheering on his team. He was a very big giver and loved being apart of the Masons and Shriners organization. Leo was a longtime member of the Hebron Lodge 215 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Reading the Bible was also a daily ritual for Leo, learning and teaching others about his Lord and Savior.

One final word from Leo: "Tell all my friends that I love them and I'll see them one of these days and I appreciated each and every one of them."

Survivors are his wife Carla of the home, daughter Tracy Shipman and her husband Shane of Cleveland, Oklahoma, grandson Jacob Shipman of Cleveland; seven siblings Jan Youtsey of California, Charlotte Perry and her husband Charles of Hulah, Oklahoma, Mark Howell of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Gina Coffey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tracee McBurl of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Chuck Nobles of Cleveland, Oklahoma, George Nobles of Cleveland, Oklahoma as well as numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Leo was preceded in death by his sister Jennifer Howell.
