Valerie was born forty-seven years ago on Palm Sunday, April 15, 1973, to Alvin and Judy (Cook) Proctor in Wichita, Kansas. She attended elementary school in Andover and El Dorado, Kansas before moving to Osage, Oklahoma in 1981. Valerie finished her elementary education at Hominy Public Schools and later graduated with the class of 1993 from the Cleveland High School.
After graduation, Valerie attended the Pawnee County Workshop for Adults with disabilities. Everyday she looked forward to going to work to be with her co-workers and friends. She was also very active in the Special Olympics where she received many medals and ribbons for the softball throw and the 50-meter dash.
Valerie enjoyed traveling with her parents, especially to Branson to see all the music shows. She also loved going on camping trips and to family reunions. More than anything, her favorite was worshipping at her church, the Cleveland Church of the Nazarene, where she was baptized and was a long time member.
No matter where she went, Valerie was sure to make a friend with her contagious smile and laughter. She loved people, especially her big brother and best friend, Tony.
Valerie is survived by her parents, Alvin and Judy Proctor; her brother Tony Proctor and wife, Michelle; two nieces, Kirsten Clostio and husband, Tyler, Brittany Stroup and husband, Keith; her nephew, Ethan Proctor and wife, Toni; two great nephews and one great niece, Damien, Hunter and Willow Clostio; as well as, many cousins, relatives, a host of church family and her precious Dachshund companion, Tinkerbell.
