Tom D. Yarbrough passed from this life on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at his home in Prue, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years five months and seven days. Tom was born on April 13, 1929, in Wildhorse, Oklahoma. He was the son of Omer Alvin and Lillie A. (Cole) Yarbrough. As a young man Tom grew up and attended school in Wildhorse where he completed his education. On September 25, 1948, in Wildhorse, Tom was united in marriage to the love of his life Jennie Lay at the Oak Hill Baptist Church. Tom initially gained employment in the oil field as a pumper for Moyens Oil Company and then later for Warren Petroleum. Tom then began working for National Tank in Tulsa as a welder. Before the closure of the company Tom accepted a position with Conrad where he worked for over 20 years when he retired. After retirement Tom continued to work. He then accepted employment with Osage County at the Skiatook Barn where he worked until his second retirement in 1991. Tom not being able to sit and relax enjoyed the opportunity to return and do what he loved most being a ìCowboyî. He loved raising cattle and spending time working around the house and farm. Tom loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren; always willing to teach them something of value. Survivors are his wife of nearly 63 years Jennie of the home, two children Tom ìDarryî Yarbrough of Mesa, Arizona, Kaye Frazier and her husband Dan of Hominy, Oklahoma; one brother Jack Yarbrough and his wife Maude of Skiatook, Oklahoma, four grandchildren Kirk Frazier, Derik Frazier, Aundrea Coates, Christopher Yarbrough; seven great grandchildren Halle, Hunter, Hattie, Beth, Zach, Luke and Gaige. He was preceded in death by Omer Alvin Yarbrough, Lillie A Yarbrough (Cole), six brothers August, Artt, Logan, Bill, Garry Ray, and Charles; two sisters Kathleen Fast and Sonja Sanders.
