Thomas Allison passed from this life on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident on Sunday, May 8, 2016, west of Cleveland.
Thomas was born on August 23, 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of Tom and Beryle (Schneider) Allison. Thomas was raised in Tulsa where he attended school, graduating from Nathan Hale High School in 1976.
Shortly after graduation, Thomas began working for his father at Allison Electric in Tulsa. While working he attended electrician training at Tulsa Vo-Tech where he obtained his electrician and contractor licenses. He continued to work for his father at Allison electric until 1985 when he purchased the business himself. Thomas continued to operator Allison Electric until 2004 when he was medically retired.
Thomas moved to his home near Blackburn in Pawnee County in 1992 where he raised horses and enjoyed all aspects of breeding, training and riding them. He loved all of God’s creatures and especially animals; including dogs, cats, horses and most any other animal. It was often said that if someone believed in reincarnation that they would be lucky to return as an Allison pet. He also enjoyed coaching little league baseball and was active in that capacity for a few years.
Thomas attended Terlton Baptist Church for many years and later became active in Escape Ministries in Cleveland. He served the church in any capacity necessary and was there almost daily assisting with the food bank or washing dishes at the Manna Café; where their goal was to reach outside the walls of their church to assist others with food, clothing and the love of Jesus. Thomas could always be found singing while at work, home or at the church. Those being served at the café often commented that Thomas must be there because they could hear him singing.
Thomas was described by his family and friends as a godly, organized man that was much like Mr. Clean. When he did a job, upon completion everything had to be perfectly clean and returned to its proper place. He was a dedicated volunteer to Escape Ministries and will be missed by his church family. He loved his family and church family and was a devoted father to his children and foster children. He read the bible to them and ensured they prayed daily. Emily and Sara related that when they informed him of anything he would return with a comment, “ I see said the blind man to his deaf daughter on the telephone while she wasn’t listening.”
When he wasn’t volunteering, working or spending time with his family and animals, Thomas could be found watching his favorite shows, Matlock, MASH, and old westerns on television. He also enjoyed listening to country and gospel music when he was singing.
Through his death, Thomas shared the gift of life with many as an organ donor through LifeShare of Oklahoma. Thomas would encourage you to do the same by contacting www.LifeShareRegistry.org and see how you can provide life to others.
Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Beryle E. Juncker. He is survived by his parents, Tom and Mary Allison of Skiatook, Oklahoma; two daughters, Emily A. Allison of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Sara B. Allison of Ponca City, Oklahoma; two sons, Jessie Allison of Texas and Robert Allison of Illinois; two foster sons, Monty and Dakota; granddaughter, Laura Galvan of Texas; and four sisters, Carollyne Brown of Victoria, B C, Pam Silvis of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Terrye Williams of Newport News, Virginia, and Tamara McElroy of Pensacola, Florida
