Susan Diane Block was born September 18, 1956 in Paola, Kansas to Wilbur H and Naomi (Lay) Block. As a young child the family resided in Paola where was raised and received her education, graduating from Paola High School in 1974.
In 1977 Susan moved to Cleveland where she was employed at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home as a nurseÃs aide. In the early 1980Ãs she accepted employment with Donco Trucking; where she worked as a cross country truck driver for over four years. Susan then moved to the Dodge City, Kansas area where she was employed by Wal-Mart as well as a company called Excel, driving a truck moving trailers to be loaded and unloaded. In 1997 Susan moved to the Wichita, Kansas area; then moved to Maramec, OK in September of 2003.
When Susan had spare time she loved to crochet, cook, spend time in the outdoors and loved to sing. Susan would go out of her way to help others in their time of need. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. Susan was preceded in death by her father, maternal and paternal grandparents, two uncles Bobby Block and Lowell Lay and an aunt, Esther Oneda Harp.
Susan passed away December 14, 2003 in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the age of 47 years 2 months and 26 days.
Surviving are her son, Donnie and his wife Misty Kelbs of Dodge City, Kansas; granddaughter, Jamie Kelbs of Dodge City, Kansas; mother and step father, Naomi and Edwin Wiseman of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two brother, Monty and his wife Susan Block of Lee Summit, Missouri; Brett and his wife Brenda Prothe of Altus, Oklahoma two sisters, Vicki and her husband Harold Rolland of Maramec, Oklahoma; Cindy and her husband Kenneth Robinson of Stillwater, Oklahoma; aunts, Bernice Kent of Osage, Oklahoma; Johnnie and Joe Garcia of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Naomi and James Hare of Howham, Texas as well as numerous other nephews, nieces and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 18, 2003 at 11:00 am in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ted Herold officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
