Funeral services for Elizabeth Sue Dietz will be held on 2:00 pm, Friday, December 21, 2018, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Gene Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Terlton Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Sue was born on January 6, 1941, in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Sue was the daughter of Albin and Marie Geneva (Connor) Monforte. Sue grew up initially in Blackwell before moving with her parents to Palm Springs, California. At the age of 7, Sue and her family moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma. Sue attended school and completed her education in Cleveland graduating with the Class of 1959. During her time in school, Sue was very active in sports. She was one of the best female basketball players in the school’s history. Just to name a few of her accomplishments as a basketball player, she led the 1959 Cleveland girls basketball team to the District Championship. She was also named All-Conference forward and nicknamed “Star” for her abilities to sink the longshots at any given moment. Sue was also a member of the Cleveland High School Varsity Cheerleaders. After high school, Sue began working in Tulsa. She worked for Houston Fire and Casualty as well as John Burke Oil Company in downtown Tulsa. On December 28, 1963, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sue was united in marriage to the love of her life George Anton Dietz, Jr. The couple established their initial home in Tulsa before moving to Cleveland. Sue also worked for Northside State Bank and Southwest Bank during that time. In the late 1970s, Sue and George moved to Cleveland where they raised their three children. In 1981, Sue accepted a position with Cleveland Bank. She worked there until her retirement in 2003, as the loan officer secretary.

Sue was very loving and always enjoyed being around her family and friends. Those times gave her the most enjoyment in life. Sue was also a very spiritual person accepting Christ at a young age at the Cleveland Nazarene Church. Sue and George also attended the Immanuel Baptist Church in Tulsa where she was baptized and had most recently been attending church at Keystone Baptist. Sue felt that being married for over 54 years and raising her children was one of her greatest accomplishments in life. She always commented that she loved her grandson to the moon and back which helped lengthen her life here on Earth. Sue enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. She also enjoyed spending time at her family farm. Sue was very passionate and always enjoyed helping the John 3:16 Mission, Salvation Army, and the Trinity Food Bank. One of her most memorable trips she always talked about was going to Biloxi, Mississippi. During that time she went to see her brother John who was stationed there in the Air Force. That was the first time for her to see the ocean and she always talked about the Spanish Moss that was hanging from the trees and how beautiful it was.

Sue passed from this life on December 18, 2018, at the age of 77 at her home in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Survivors are her loving husband of over 54 years George Anton, Jr. Dietz of the home, son Mark Steven Dietz of Cleveland, Oklahoma; daughter Janie Lanette Dietz of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three brothers Bill Monforte of Skiatook, Oklahoma, John Monforte of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Bob Monforte of Cleveland, Oklahoma; grandson Andrew John Gettle as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Albin, and Marie Monforte, one son Christopher Jason Dietz and a sister Janie Marie Davis.
