Steve Lee Finch

Steve Lee Finch, of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Cleveland Area Hospital in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 53.

Steve was born August 1, 1954 in Nevada, Missouri the son of James and Margaret (Swisher) Finch. As a young man Steve grew up and received his education in New Mexico as well as Ohio. He later graduated high school in 1974 at Tipps City, Ohio. Soon after graduation Steve enrolled at Ohio State where he completed two years before moving to Oklahoma to reside with his brother Carol. Mr. Finch was later united in marriage to Mary Griggs on December 13, 1979 in Skiatook, Oklahoma. They established their initial home in Skiatook later moving to Terlton and then to Hominy in the mid 1980's where they have continued to live. Steve most recently was employed with Wal-Mart in Cleveland, Oklahoma. He had been previously employed with Oklahoma Fixture and Tulsa Spring for several years.

Steve enjoyed wood working, mowing his yard. However he received great enjoyment being with his family and grandchildren.

Survivor include his loving wife Mary of the home, three children Tracy Anderson and her husband Glen of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Charles Washington of Hominy, Oklahoma, Chris Finch and his wife Bonnie of Hominy, Oklahoma; one brothers, four sisters, five grandchildren Leslie Swinford, Katara Swinford, Tosha Swinford, Brent Washington, Jacob Washington as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret (Swisher) Finch, father James Finch, three brothers and two sisters.

Graveside Services will be held Monday, 2:00 pm, June 16, 2008 in the Leonard Pitts Memorial Chapel in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery with Chaplain Joe Anglin officiating under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
