Stacy Lynn Weldon

Stacy Lynn (Cox) Weldon was described by her family and friends as a beautiful, compassionate and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She always seemed happy and funny and provided the glue that anchored the family together. She was MiMi to her two grandchildren, Bryce and Blaine and she adored and loved them with every ounce of her fiber. Her daughter, Cassie was the light of her life and her friend; and Brad, her husband was her soul mate and the love of her life. She cherished the time that she could spend with her sister, Leigh Ann and her family and was always available for her mother, Louise. Shortly after her latest cancer was diagnosed, Brad and Stacy were bound and determined to keep their plans of a cruise to Alaska in June of 2012. They each had a feeling that the trip could be their last together but neither was willing to accept it. During the trip, they had the opportunity to recharge their love and devotion to each other while being surrounded by Godís beautiful scenery. They laughed and cried as they looked into each others eyes and embraced the moments with a love like never before; their most memorial trip together. Stacyís outpouring of love for those around her did not stop with her family. Her compassionate spirit and love of life, allowed her to make friends easily; and she had many of them. Without question, Stacy would reflect that her life and her heart were filled with the gifts her friends had given her ñ gifts of time, gifts of listening and caring, gifts of encouragement and support as well as gifts of love and laughter. Stacy was born on August 29, 1959 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the eldest of two daughters of Harold Lee and Louise (Davis) Cox. She was raised in Cleveland, attending school here; graduating from Cleveland High School with the Class of 1977. Stacy was extremely active in high school, participating in pep club, the Cleveland Tiger band, Future Homemakerís of America, selected as most admired in the Whoís Who of Cleveland High School and was the football homecoming queen her senior year. While attending school, Stacy accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior at the First Baptist Church in Cleveland. Upon graduation from high school, Stacy attended Oklahoma State University for three years before returning to Cleveland and accepting a position with Ball Oil Company, owned by her father, Harold Cox. In 1984, Stacy was blessed with the birth of a beautiful premature baby girl, Cassandra Blaine. Her devotion and love for Cassie were obvious in everything she has accomplished throughout her life. After the closure of Ball Oil Company, Stacy accepted a position as a florist for Cleveland Flowers. In January of 1996, she was instrumental in the establishment of Chapman-Black Floral Designs; providing the needed floral expertise to get the business off the ground and served as manager until 2002. Stacy was married to the love of her life, Bradley David Weldon at the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home on September 4, 1999. Although they lived in a house divided, Stacy being an Oklahoma State fan and Brad an Oklahoma Sooner fan they shared each others victories and defeats together. The couple has continued to reside in Cleveland, relocating to their current home in 2008. Stacy was a breast cancer survivor and was doing well until she was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2012. She always remained positive and upbeat during her illness, worrying more about her family and friends than herself. She has been a member of the Western Heights Baptist Church for the past several years. She often traveled to job sites with Brad as he is a project manager for JV Industrial Companies, mostly in California and Texas. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her two grandchildren, watching them play and participate in school activities. She also enjoyed taking them on vacations together as a family. Her strength and loving nature provided the nucleus for her family and will serve as a wonderful legacy to her family and friends. A big part of her life was enjoying the fellowship and partying with her friends and family. She enjoyed entertaining and having everyone over to their home. Stacy passed from this life and made her homeward journey to heaven surrounded by her family and closest friends on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at her home in Cleveland at the age of fifty-three. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jesse and Iva Cox; maternal grandparents, Delbert and Alta Louise Davis; and her father, Harold Lee Cox. She is survived by her husband, Brad Weldon of the home in Cleveland, Oklahoma; a daughter, Cassandra Blaine "Cassie" and her husband Justin Gilbert of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Bryce Wade Gilbert and Blaine Elizabeth Gilbert of Cleveland, Oklahoma; mother, Louise Cox of Cleveland, Oklahoma; a sister, Leigh Ann and her husband, John Smith of Katy, Texas; a nephew, Evan Smith and a niece, Hannah Smith, both of Katy, Texas Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Western Heights Baptist Church with Rev. David Head officiating. Interment will be under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home at the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland.
