Skye Stach

July 21, 1981 — September 19, 2024

Skye Stach

Skye was born on July 21, 1981, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Troy Gene and Trena Gay (Echols) Zickefoose. Skye grew up in the Keystone and Terlton area, where she attended Westport Baptist Church and accepted Christ on July 11, 1991. She attended high school in Cleveland, graduating with the Class of 1999. Skye attended Tulsa Community College and Coffeyville Community College after high school. Skye was united in marriage to Rusty Schaefer on April 29, 2000; to that union, there are two children, Aedan "Love" and Honey. The couple resided in Broken Arrow for several years. Skye later moved to Florida before moving to Lumberton, Texas. On March 3, 2018, Skye was united in marriage to Darryl Stach, where she continued to reside until January of 2024, when she moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma.Skye was born to be a mom. She proved that at 17 months old when her brother Christopher first arrived home from the hospital. Immediately upon entering the house, she demanded, "Where is my baby?" Her brothers didn't realize they did not have to mind Skye until they were school-age.

Skye walked and talked at an early age. Even as a toddler, she worried about other people. She was constantly on the lookout for Aunt Tonya, a husband because Skye didn't want her alone. Skye loved her momma, but she was a daddy's girl! Through the years, they scouted deer from the roof, shot guns and collaborated on Jeep repairs. She could build a dance floor, do home repairs, and create her own home décor. The two most cherished days of her life were when she brought her children, Aedan and Honey, home for the first time. As they grew, she made sure they painted, cooked, explored, and said yes, ma'am, and no, sir. She took great pride in raising her nephew, Schuyler, her little GatorBait. She taught him the same values, and she loved showing him how to use a grill and smoker.

One of Skye's passions was to cook Cajun food. She would make enough to feed the entire neighborhood. Then, send the kids to deliver food to elderly neighbors and have enough left to feed the Police Department. She loved being outdoors, particularly in her jeep named Gypsy, cruising the beach and taking her jeep on trails. She also liked painting and giving her abstract art to her friends and family.

She was an amazing wife who ran a fast-paced, hectic schedule but also made enough time to snuggle up for a movie at the end of the day. She was always the biggest fan of her husband and kids. Everyone was accepted, and if you were at her house, you were her kid. She very much enjoyed being "Sassy" to her grandkids, Gunner, Logan, and Jade, and she was proud of her nieces and nephews.

Survivors are her children Aedan, Honey, and Schuyler; husband Darryl Stach and children Destini, Jacelyn, Jaidyn, and Hadley; parents Troy and Trena Zickefoose; brothers Jesse and Farrow Zickefoose; sister Jennifer Huff-Zickefoose; grandmothers Barbara Lawson, Shirley Zickefoose; grandchildren Gunner, Logan, Jade. Aunts Tonya and Denise, Uncle Pat and Tony, nieces McKayla, Callie, and Hayley, nephews Braysen and Jonce, and a host of other relatives and friends. Skye was preceded in death by her brother Christopher "Zig" Zickefoose, friend Brad Owens; grandfathers Gary Lawson, Doyle "Buddy" Zickefoose, and Allan Echols.
