ShirleyAnn Carlson was born on June 8, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Joseph Wayne and Vineta Maxine (Myers) Chester. As a young girl ShirleyAnn grew up in Spencer, Oklahoma where she later graduated high school with the Class of 1969. Soon after graduation she enrolled at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. In 1982, ShirleyAnn was united in marriage to Larry Alan Carlson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The couple established their intial home in Oklahoma City where they remained until 1992. At that time ShirleyAnn and Larry moved to Tulsa. In 1996 the couple moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma where they have continued to reside. ShirleyAnn loved reading books. Dean Koontz was one of her favorite authors and she would have Larry take her to the library religiously so she could get new books to read. She also loved playing the piano for her family when she was able as well as cooking their favorite foods. ShirleyAnn was Larryís ìfriend, soul mate, love and everything in betweenî. ShirleyAnn passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at her home in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 58 years. Survivors are her husband Larry of the home; mother Vineta Chester of Spencer, Oklahoma, five children Lissa Moulton and her husband Keith of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Meadow VanMeter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Brad Carlson of Ada, Oklahoma, Rebecca Seals of Ada, Oklahoma, Cade Carlson of Cleveland, Oklahoma; one brother Tom Chester of Klamath Falls, Oregon; thirteen grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. ShirleyAnn was preceded in death by her father Joseph Wayne Chester. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, 10:30 am, May 1, 2010 in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel. The body was cremated under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
