Sharon Kay Slamans went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at her home in Hominy, Oklahoma with her family at her side at the age of 68 years, nine months and twenty-seven days. Sharon was born on October 3, 1944, in Hastings, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Ira Edward and Ima Lorraine (Streeter) Watson. As a young girl Sharon moved with her parents to the Dawson Community of Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1947, from there the family moved to Owasso where she attended elementary school. in 1956 another move was made to Tulsa Oklahoma. Sharon attended Bell middle School, then began attending Nathan Hale High School where she graduated with the Class of 1962. Following high school Sharon enrolled at the Tulsa Beauty College. She later graduated and was soon united in marriage to the love of her life Charles Edward Slamans, on August 22, 1964, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The couple established their initial home Tulsa. Sharon and Charles later moved to Fort Worth, Texas before returning to Tulsa. In June of 1976, Sharon and Charles moved to Hominy, Oklahoma where the two established S & S Accounting. Sharon helped Charles operate the business and performed the daily tasks of a small business for many years. In 2000, Sharon gained employment with the City of Hominy. Sharon worked at the City Hall as well as the accounting firm and was last the Assistant Treasurer for the city until recently; when she was forced into retirement due to health reasons. Sharon was a very devoted Christian as well as a adamant believer in Christ. She enjoyed the time with her family and especially when it involved taking them shopping. Sharon enjoyed sewing as well as reading in her spare time. Sharon spent many hours collecting bears and angels and had a very large collection. She is described by her family as very giving, loving and was the glue the helped keep everyone together. Sharon loved the times spent with her ìBunko Babesî playing and having a good time. Most of all in life Sharon was most proud of her husband, daughter and grand kids who she loved very much. Survivors are her husband of nearly 48 years Charles of the home, one daughter Kimberly Draper of Hominy, Oklahoma, one brother Edward Watson of Owasso, Oklahoma, five grandchildren Lindsey Hester of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Chelsi Draper of Hominy, Oklahoma, Noah Draper of Hominy, Oklahoma, Emily Draper of Hominy, Oklahoma, Averi Draper of Hominy, Oklahoma, two great grandchildren Kayleigh and Jaxon and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Michael Watson. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Church of the Nazarene in Hominy with Rev. Carl Brown officiating. The body will be cremated and later interred in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery privately.
