Sarah Drusilla Redd, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015, in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, three months and twenty five days following a long fight with Alzheimer's disease. Sarah was born March 1, 1933, in Pensacola, Florida. She was the daughter of Henry Thornton Dietrich and Kathryn (Toye) Dietrich. Sarah grew up in various parts of the United States due to the fact her father was a career Naval officer. Sarah later graduated from Washington Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia. After graduation Sarah furthered her education at Shepard College. Sarah was later united in marriage to the love of her life Johns Hopkins Redd, Jr. on November 23rd, 1957. Mrs. Redd was a dedicated wife of 58 years, President of Women's Clubs in Heidelberg, West Germany, Wyckoff, New Jersey and Lexington, Virginia. She was also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, member of the Republican National Committee and the infamous "Red Hat Society". Sarah was devoted to her Lord and Savior, former director of ecumenical services at St. Patrick's in Lexington, Virginia. She was able to see all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was aware......how grateful her family will always be. Mrs. Redd slipped quietly into our Saviors arms in the afternoon June 26, 2015. Survivors are her husband Johns of the home, four children Johns H. Redd, III of Staunton, Virginia, Catherine Carter and her husband David of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Joseph T. Redd and his wife Heidi of Brookfield, Connecticut, Jeannette T. McIninch and her husband Bruce of The Woodlands, Texas; six grandchildren Caroline and J.T. Redd, Codie Holloway, Calum, Ian and Megan McIninch; two great grandchildren Briley and Charles Holloway and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by father Captain Henry Dietrich, United States Navy Retired; mother Kathryn Dietrich, one brother Captain Henry T. Dietrich, United States Navy Retired.
