Sam Burgess passed from this life on October 15, 2022, at the age of 66 in Mannford, OK.
Sam was born on May 8, 1956, at Pawhuska. He was the son of the late Joseph Burgess and Maxine Rhodes Burgess. Sam attended and graduated from Oilton High School, where he played football and was very active with FFA and the Boy Scouts, becoming an Eagle Scout. Following his education, Sam was united in marriage to Dianna Hooper on July 3, 2011, in Mannford, Oklahoma. Sam worked as an Inspector. He enjoyed woodworking, classic rock and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Dianna; one daughter, Erica Kipper; one son, Joshua Burgess and his wife Brooke; two brothers, Dusty Rhodes Burgess and Kelly Page Burgess; one sister, Debbye Elain Storckman; one grandson, Corvin Burgess; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Sam was preceded in death by his father Joseph Burgess; his mother Maxine Burgess and a nephew Lucas Storckman.
Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in the Lakeview Christian Church with Michael Grant officiating. Family has requested memorial donations be made in honor of Sam to ASPCA. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
