Roy Wayne Hogue, was born on October 7, 1959, in Brownfield, Texas. He was the son of Buford Donald and Barbara Ann (Laws) Hogue. Roy began his education in Texas and in the fourth grade moved with his family to Okmulgee. After a couple of years Roy moved to Morris, Oklahoma where he finished his education. At the age of 18, Roy began driving a truck for his father. In 1981, Don sold his trucking operation to John Zink and Roy then began working at John Zink. Several years later Roy purchased his own truck and began driving cross country for National Carriers. Roy drove throughout the United States as well as into Canada before gaining employment with Accord Transportation. Roy later began working for the State of Oklahoma and later for Pawnee County District #3. In 2012, Roy returned working for the State of Oklahoma and was currently employed at Oklahoma Correctional Industries. Roy loved to be at home as well as to tinker on cars. He also enjoyed being around his family that he loved dearly. Survivors are his daughter Cherylynn Elliott and her husband Baucom of Wright City, Oklahoma, father Don Hogue and his wife Sharon of Cleveland, Oklahoma; mother Barbara Hemphill and her husband Dick of Cleveland, Oklahoma; two brothers Tommy Hogue of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Bill Hogue of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; two grandchildren Sierrah Lynn Schneider, Milamber Ashen Smith and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn his passing. Roy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents T.C. and Ellen Laws and paternal grandparents Alice and Buford Hogue. Church services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, January 27, 2014, at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Dan Edens officiating. Private burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
