Roy Bryce Crider died at home on March 19, 2002. A memorial service will be held at Ellerbe Road Baptist Church on Thursday, March 21, 2002 with Pastor Dennis Sims officiating. Interment will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 23, 2002.

Bryce was born near Cleveland, Oklahoma on April 8, 1920. He attended schools in Cleveland and, on January 20, 1940, married his high school sweetheart, Mary Swan. They were married for almost sixty years until her death in 1999. Two children were born into the family, Alan Kent and Nancy Ann. The family lived in Tulsa until Bryce was called into the Army during World War II. His family moved to Cleveland during his army service.

After the war, they moved back to Tulsa, where he was employed and attended the University of Tulsa night school. Bryce was an executive in the petroleum business in Tulsa, Dallas, Beverly Hills and Magnolia, Arkansas, where he was Presidentof Berry Petroleum Company. Berry was purhchased by Crystal Oil Company in 1970, and he moved to Shreveport in 1975 to serve as Treasurer of Crystal until his retirement on December 31, 1985.

Bryce was always active in church work. He served as Deacon and a member of the Board of Directors at Broadmoor Baptist Church. He left Broadmoor to join their mission church, which became Ellerbe Road Baptist Church. He served there as Treasurer, Deacon, Board member and on various committees.

Bryce was the last surviving member of his family, preceded in death by his parents, H. C. and Rose Crider, brothers Howard and Lynn; and his sisters, Vera and Fern. He is survived by his son, Alan Kent and wife, Barbara; his daughter, Nancy Ann Crandall and husband, David; grandchildren James A. Crider, wife Karen, and their daughter, Elizabeth; David Charles Crider; Shelley Hall, husband Michael, and son Nathan; Matthew A. Crandall, step-daughter Debra Warman, husband Mark, and great-grandson Garrett Bryce Warman.

Honorary pallbearers area; L. G. Caskey, Jack English, Ben Laurents, R. L. McCary, Bill Beasley, Paul Patton, Billy Powell and Richard Pool.

Memorial may be made to the Building Fund of Ellerbe Road Baptist Church or Christus Schumpert Community Hospice.
