Funeral services for Ronnie West Surritte are to be held Monday, October 18, 2004 at 11:00 am in the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with services officiated by Rev. Paul Kersh of the First Baptist Church in Hominy. The body will be cremated and a private family burial will be in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery.

Ron Surritte, of Hominy was born July 6, 1943 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to James Gail and Mary (Moore) Surritte. Ron was raised and received his education in Hominy. He graduated from Hominy High school in 1961. Shortly after graduation Ron joined the United States Army; Ron was a medic in the MASH Unit. He returned to Hominy, Oklahoma after his discharge and made his home there. On November 12, 1966 Ron was united in marriage to Carolyn (Jones) at Stillwell, Oklahoma. They made their home in Hominy for several years.

In 1969 Ron and Carolyn moved to Claremore. Ron accepted employment with Cook Construction. During this time he began attending Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. He later graduated from NSU in 1970 with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting.

Ron and Carolyn returned to Hominy soon after his graduation. At that time Ron accepted employment with Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville as a Lab Technician. Ron then gained employment with Carnation Milk in Tulsa. In 1973 Ron began working for Refractory Construction, Inc. as an accountant. RCI later became Construction Turnaround Services, Inc. where Ron was currently employed. Ron worked for CTS for the past 32 years and was currently the Project Engineer.

Ron had also obtained an Associates Degree in Animal husbandry and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hominy. Ron loved to spend vacation time with his family at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. His greatest inspirations were his wife Carolyn, Momma Mary, his children and grandchildren. Ron will also be remembered for his generosity to his family and friends. Ron loved to listen to classical as well as country music and loved fishing, wood working and carpentry. His motto was ìto finish what you startî which is what he would always do. His last most memorable time was the Indian prayer services in August of 2004.

Ron passed away Friday, October 15, 2004 at his home in Hominy, Oklahoma at the age of 61 years 3 months and 9 days. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, one sister Joyce Lamarr Wallace as well as a son Luke Watkins Surritte.

Survived by his loving wife of over 37 years, Carolyn Surritte, of the home; two sons, Coby and his wife Kathy Surritte of Hominy, Oklahoma; John Surritte of Collinsville, Oklahoma; one daughter, Romy and her husband Ty Kerr of Collinsville, Oklahoma; two sisters, Carol and her husband Pat Passmore of Hominy, Oklahoma; Jane Stewart of Muskogee, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren, numerous other relatives and especially his family at Construction Turnaround Services, Inc.
