Roger W. McCabe passed away October 26, 2016 in Corpus Christi, TX after a courageous battle against lung cancer. He was born on November 4, 1956 in Tulsa, OK. and grew up in Midland, TX. Roger was a resident of Freer, TX where he worked in the oil and gas industry and owned an equipment salvage company. He was one of the rare individuals who unplugged his T.V. years ago because he realized it was a waste of his precious time. Some of his joys in life were reading, visiting friends, and spending time with his dogs Bosco and Sugar. After 12 years together, Bosco passed away the day before Roger. Roger is pre-deceased by his parents John Q. and Doris McCabe.
He is survived by his siblings and their spouses John and Marlene McCabe, Ed and Laura McCabe, Greg and Melissa McCabe, Rozena McCabe and Diana Everett; his nieces and nephews and their spouses Greg and Mandy McCabe, Amanda and Peng Fan, Josh McCabe, and Jenny McCabe; and his close friends Joe and Cyndee Turney, Mario G. Perez, and Charley Johnson. The family would like to give special thanks to Roger’s employee and friend Miguel (Mike) Perez for his years of loyalty and for his compassion as he stood by Roger during this extended and difficult illness. Mike and his family have adopted Sugar and she will have lots of room to run with other dogs on their ranch.
A memorial service will be held at Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland, OK on November 5th at 11:00am and Roger’s ashes will be buried next to his parents in Osage, OK. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Osage Cemetery Fund at P.O. Box 95, Osage, OK 74054.
