Robert Baxter

Robert W. Baxter was born September 25, 1938 in Chelsea, Michigan. He was the son of Clyde and Mina (Watson) Baxter. Robert later moved with his family at an early age to Northville, Michigan where he obtained his education. Robert worked his entire life at various jobs including gas station attendant and automobile mechanic. He was proud of being and Okie and enjoyed living here. For the past fifteen years he has resided in the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home where he made many friends. Robert passed from this life on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home. He was preceded in by his parents, Clyde Baxter and Mina Baxter and a brother, Samuel James Baxter. Robert is survived by his daughter, Corrina Baxter and her famiy of Clifton, Texas; a sister, Ila Black of Munith, Michigan; a brother, Clyde Baxter, Jr.; numerous friends in the local area including Amber Horton, who often took Robert from the nursing home to her home and area restaurants and Joe Browne. Graveside service were held at 10:30 am, Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Dixie Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
