Robert Allen

 Robert Gale Allen passed from this life on December 8, 2023, at the age of 83, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Robert was born on March 31, 1940, in Grove, Oklahoma, the son of Herbert and Helen Rose (Wilkins) Allen.  Robert grew up in Cleveland, attending school in Terlton and Cleveland.  After completing his education, Robert began working as a plumber for his uncle, Windy Wilkins.  Robert was soon drafted into the service of his country in the United States Army.  Specialist Robert Allen served with Company B, 25th Signal Battalion in Germany during his service.  Robert returned to Oklahoma and was honorably discharged on March 9, 1965.  Then, on May 29, 1965, Robert was united in marriage to Goldie Faye Tilley in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.  Robert accepted employment in Sand Springs with Wheatley as a painter.  Following the facility's closure and after 33 years with Wheatley, Robert began working at Helicomb International.  Robert continued as a painter, retiring in 2008, after nearly ten years of employment.

Robert loved working outdoors, and following his retirement, he spent numerous hours working in his garden. He was known for his ability to fix anything.  Robert loved helping others and always enjoyed it when they would ask for his help.  Robert and Goldie always enjoyed the trips to Colorado and Branson.  One of their favorite trips was an eleven-day trip through Washington and Canada.  In 2001, Robert and Goldie took a trip to Alaska sightseeing by car from Anchorage to Seward.       

Survivors include his wife, Goldie, of the home; two brothers, Jerry Allen of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and  Rick Allen of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and other relatives and friends.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Helen Allen; six brothers, Orville Allen, Don Allen, Delbert Allen, Jackie Allen, Herbert Allen, and Richard Allen; and two sisters, Betty Perry and Judy Strader.

Services will be held 3:00 pm, Friday, December 15, 2023, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Prairie View Cemetery in Prue, Oklahoma.
