Riley Norton

Riley Ellis Norton passed from this life on December 8, 2018 at the age of 82 in Tyler TX.

Riley was born on November 17, 1936 in Garber OK. Norton was the son of Kenneth and Pearl Spencer Norton. Riley attended school in Cleveland OK where he played football. Following his education, Riley joined the US Army and served over seas from 1958 to 1960. Riley was united in marriage to Lola Grace Ditto on July 23,1961. Riley worked at Kerr McGee in Cleveland, served as Pawnee County Commissioner, and was Co Owner of American Medical in Cleveland.

Survivors are sons Todd Norton of Cleveland, Toby and wife Renee of Denton TX and Grandson Riley Norton of Nashville TN. Riley was preceded in death by his wife Lola "Gracie" Norton, a brother, Kenneth Norton, sisters Kay Lucas, Karen Williams, and Ruth Norton, and Grandson Brock Norton.

Some of the things that Riley enjoyed most were cheering for his grandsons at their athletic events, picking and grinning with his grandsons, attending the annual Cavalcade Rodeo, team roping, joining his buddies at the Hickory House restaurant, and singing gospel songs in his church. Riley was a previous member of the First Baptist Church in Cleveland and then became a member of the Wayside Chapel in Terlton. He loved his family unconditionally and most of all his Gracie baby.

Services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 201 West Crestview Drive, Cleveland, OK on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to three of Riley's favorite organizations, Brock L Norton Memorial Endowment Fund, Escape Ministries of Cleveland or Meals on Wheels of Pawnee County.
