Richard Hale Adrean, Oakhurst resident, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at the age of fifty-seven years, eight months and twenty-three days.
Richard was born April 10, 1948 in Vinita, Oklahoma. He was the son of William O. and Juanita Ruth Adrean. Richard moved with his family at an early age to Osage where he attended school, graduating from Prue High School in 1966.
Upon completion of his high school education, Richard attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1970. He then enrolled at Oklahoma State University and received a Master's Degree in Mathematics in 1972. He then accepted employment as a high school math teacher at Prue High School.
Richard then began a career in the field of plumbing and pipefitting. He attended a trade school sponsored by the International Association of Journeymen and Apprentices, Plumbers and Pipe fitters Local 205. Upon completion of his training and becoming a member of the local, Richard worked for nearly thirty years in the pipe fitting trade all across the United States. He worked on numerous refineries performing in plant operation of mechanical systems, pipe fabrication and assembly and lead burning, In December of 1997, Richard became affiliated with Local 430 when Local 205 consolidated with other local unions as a charter member. He was medically retired in 2004.
Richard was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Osage where he was baptized. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent countless hours fishing when he was not working. Additionally he loved to play golf and enjoyed playing cards, especially Texas Holdem.
He is survived by his brother, William D. Adrean, Sr. and wife, Kathy of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; sister, Millie Jane Adrean of Osage, Oklahoma; nephews, William D. Adrean, Jr.and and is wife, Stephanie of Heavener, Oklahoma; Richard L. Adrean of Coweta, Oklahoma; and two great-nephews, Dawson and Luke Adrean of Heavener, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the Osage Cemetery with Rev. Dean Switzer officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
