Randall Eldon Trimble, known to his friends and family as Randy or Coach T, passed from this life on January 31, 2022, at the age of 74.
Randy was born on December 8, 1947, in Cleveland, Oklahoma the son of LeRoy and Maxine (Smith) Trimble. Randy grew up in Cleveland where he began his education later graduating with the Class of 1966. During high school Randy was very active in football, basketball and baseball. Following high school Randy began furthering his education at Northeastern State University, before being drafted into the service of his country in the United States Army. Randy served his time during the Vietnam War from 1969-1970 before he returned to the United States following his honorable discharge. After returning to Cleveland, Randy was united in marriage to Donna Jo Brumley on August 15, 1971 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Randy continued his higher education, and graduated with his bachelor’s degree from NSU and began his first teaching and coaching position at Miami, Oklahoma where he remained until 1984. At that time Randy and Donna moved to Sand Springs where he worked as a teacher and coached football, golf, track, and basketball. In 2003, Randy retired from coaching and still remained to help with golf in the years following.
Randy loved to play golf and attend church. He enjoyed driving his corvette around and taking his golf clubs for a round of golf. Randy also enjoyed the times traveling with Donna Jo and one of their favorite trips was to Washington, D.C. for their 25th anniversary. Randy was always mentoring people and witnessing to them about his Lord and Savior. He enjoyed spending time with family, and loving on his grandchildren.
Survived by a daughter, MaRanda Kerley and husband Stephen of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; son, Zachary Trimble and his wife Casey of Grove, Oklahoma; one brother Dale Trimble of Cleveland, Oklahoma, five grandchildren Bryleigh, Bridger, Braelyn Kerley, Zachary and Etta Trimble as well as numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Randy was preceded in death by his wife Donna Jo.
Services will be held Saturday, February 5th at 2:00 at Olivet Baptist Church, with Pastor Scott Palmer officiating the services. Family has requested memorial donations be made in honor of Randall to The Spring Shelter (Sand Springs Women’s Shelter). Burial will be held in the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
