RaMona Ruth Vaughan, 91, of Terlton, OK passed from this life on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at her home. RaMona was born February 21, 1931, at Renfro, OK to Clyde V. and Pearl Ellen (Terry) Hays. She was raised and received her education in the Kremlin, OK area, graduating from Kremlin high school. On January 24, 1953 in Medford, RaMona was united in marriage to Arthur Lee Vaughan. To this union, four children were born. After their marriage, they made their home in Enid and in New Mexico before moving to Terlton in 1977. Her husband preceded her in death in May of 2008. RaMona volunteered for "Shout for America" for ten years and enjoyed traveling across the United States. She also enjoyed pottery, sewing, painting, and playing music on the guitar and the piano. She enjoyed country and western classic music; RaMona was always trying to help the homeless in any way she could. She would often say: "My mind went on vacation and forgot to take me with it".
Those who survive and hold many cherished memories include her son - Vernon of the home; a brother Irving Hays of Midwest City, OK; four grandchildren - Carrie Sloan of Oklahoma City, Tracie Lawson of Enid, Scott Lawson of Tulsa, Miranda Lawson of Enid; as well as several adopted grandchildren; three great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three children - Linda Pierce, David Vaughan, and William (Bill) Vaughan; as well as three brothers - Clyde Jr., Bob, and Rex Hays.
Memorial services for RaMona will be held at 10:30 am Friday, July 29, 2022, in the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Dusty Giles as the officiant. Inurnment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Mannford. Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland is in charge of the cremation and services. www.chapman-black.com
