Ralph Raymond Willard
Ralph Raymond Willard, 75 years, of Cleveland, OK, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at his home in Cleveland.
Ralph was born in Cleveland, Oklahoma, at the Mullendore Farm, outside of Cleveland, on January 18, 1942, to Martin McKinley and Evah Mae (Hoover) Willard. He lived in Cleveland, OK, until he was 12, and moved to California. He graduated High School, and entered the military. He was Sergeant First Class, E-7, and he earned several medals, including the Good Conduct Medal (4th award), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, two Over Seas Bars, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Service Ribbon, five Oversea Service ribbons, and two Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development ribbons. He served in the Vietnam War, and was stationed in France, Germany, and Korea, and retired from the Army in 1979.
After retiring from the Army, he lived in various places in the US, and then moved back to Cleveland, OK. He enjoyed collecting things, and walking around Cleveland.
Ralph is survived by: sisters Ruth Marscine Vandever, of Cleveland, OK, and Deloris Mae White, of Portland, Oregon.
He is preceded in death by: parents, Martin McKinley and Evah Mae (Hoover) Willard, four sisters, Hazel Josephine Porter, Mildred Juanita Smith, Sarah Oleta Miller, Birdie Claudeen Jackson, and three brothers, Troy Martin Willard, Louis Wayne Willard and Joseph William Willard.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30PM, Saturday, April 29 at Chapman Black Funeral Home, Cleveland, Oklahoma.
