Phillipp Paul Pickle passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the age of fifty years, eight months and fifteen days. Paul was born August 4, 1961 in Yuma, Arizona. He was the son of Herman Glendon and June Odessa (Mewbourn) Pickle. As a young child Paul grew up in Yuma where he began his education. Paul and his family moved to Lockford, California when he was a teenager and he later graduated high school from Lodi High School in Lodi, California. Shortly after high school Paul joined the United States Army. During his time in the Army, Paul spent the majority of his duty in Germany. Following his discharge from military service, Paul moved to Chelsea, Oklahoma. He accepted employment with Keith Davis Trucking where he worked for several years. Paul also helped his mother keep open her restaurant "The Pickle Jar." He would do odd jobs as well as remodeling and repairing of things that needed to be fixed. On April 17, 1989, Paul was united in marriage to Twilla Jane (Wilson) in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The couple established their initial home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Following a truck accident Paul quit the truck driving business. Paul then opened a tire service business "Road Runner Tire" which he operated for several years. He later accepted employment with a cable tv construction company installing mainlines throughout the United States. Paul later gained employment with Orias Broadband in Tulsa and was the state wide construction supervisor. In 1997, Paul and Twilla moved to the Peninsula area of Lake Keystone where they have continued to make their home. During his time living in the Cleveland area Paul was very community service oriented and joined as a volunteer of the Peninsula Fire Department. He served as a 1st Responder and fire fighter for over 10 years. Paul also worked for A&G Dump Truck as a driver. Paul was also the first driver for Tummy Trucking when the company was established. In June of 2010, Paul was forced into retirement for health reasons. Paul loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren as well as being very family oriented. He also enjoyed going to the races and watching NASCAR. Paul loved to work and tinker on cars and was especially fond of muscle cars. Survivors are his wife Twila of the home, four children Phillipp Pickle, Jr. and his wife Nicole of Virginia Beach, Dana Roig and her husband Adam of Concord, North Carolina, Magen Bryant and her husband John of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tyler Pickle of Hominy, Oklahoma; mother June Patterson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister Verna Hundley and husband Randy of Tulsa, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren MaKenzie, Alexandra, Joshua, Jacqueline, Jerimiah, Brady, Cameron and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Herman Glendon Pickle. Services will be held 2:00 Pm, Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Doug Dingley officiating. Burial will follow in the Sinnett Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
