Pennie Ann Risinger, current resident of Jennings, Oklahoma was born January 17, 1965 in Sacramento, California to Leroy James and Barbara Ann (Davis) Patton. As a young girl Pennie was raised in the California, Oregon and Nevada area. During this time Pennie began showing horses. Pennie won numerous awards showing Quarter Horses in English and Western Style. She traveled to many different places but mostly in California, Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona. During her senior year in high school Pennie moved to Hobbs, New Mexico where she graduated. Pennie soon moved to Wyoming after her graduation. Pennie later moved to Kansas in 1988 living in Hutchinson, Ellsworth and Loraine. In 1994 she then moved to Dallas, Texas. In 2000 Pennie moved from Houston to the Tulsa area where she began working for Fortis Benefits. Pennie worked for Fortis for several years before accepting employment with G.K. and Associates. In July of 2004 Pennie began working for Oklahoma State Univerisity in Stillwater, Oklahoma as a Administrative Assistant. On August 27, 2004 Pennie was united in marriage to Royce Don Risinger in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. After their marriage they made their home in Jennings, Oklahoma.
Pennie loved the outdoors, fishing, training her horses and most of all being with her husband, children and family. Pennie had won numerous awards and trophies showing her horses. She also loved to sing karaoke as well as in church. Pennie sang on the Worship Team at the Victory Christian Center. She was also a member of the Riverview Baptist Church in Bixby.
Pennie went to be her Lord and Saviour February 24, 2005 at the age of 40 years 1 month and 7 days. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Survived by her husband, Royce Risinger of the home; two daughters, Rashel Edwards of Bixby, Oklahoma; Anna Edwards of the home; one son, Jordan Lee Edwards, of the home; two step children, Royce Don Risinger, Jr. of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Jennifer Risinger of Tulsa, Oklahoma; parents, Leroy and Barbara Patton of Sacramento, California; one brother, Allen Patton of Oregon as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held Monday February 28, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the Bixby Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
