Peggy Jo Tucker, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Cleveland Area Hospital in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years.

Peggy was born November 4, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of John L. Sr. and Jyme (Osborn) Sullivan. Peggy grew up in Shamrock where she later graduated. Peggy attended school in Shamrock through high school where she graduated in 1949. During her time in school, Peggy was very active in sports and excelled in basketball and was a star player. Peggy was united in marriage on August 5, 1950, in Shamrock to Witt Franklin Tucker. The resided in several places in Oklahoma and Louisiana before moving to Hominy in 1966. At that time, the two purchased Tux Hard Shop which they operated until 1981.

Peggy loved to cook and always prepared three meals daily for many years. She also crocheted and quilted many things for her family and friends. Peggy enjoyed the time on the farm raising goats, chickens and helping Frank with the cows. The two of them grew a large garden yearly which also meant she was able to can the vegetables from the garden. Peggy was also known for her homemade noodles and cinnamon rolls.


Survivors are three children, Deborah Tucker Wellman of Tulsa, Greg and Marsha Tucker of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and Tim and Pam Tucker of Hominy, Oklahoma; one brother John L. Sullivan, Jr. of Hominy, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Jeff and Andrea Wellman, Patrick Wellman and Amber Buckey, Shawn Tucker and Lacey Roe, Christopher and Megan Tucker, Drew Tucker, Brad and Jonaleen Tucker, Cody and Fanci Tucker, Jenna and Dillon Owens along with twelve great grandchildren, Haylee Buckey, Travis Tucker, Blake Wellman, Colten Tucker, Shalan Tucker, Levi Tucker, Cheyenne Tucker, Jessa Tucker, Savannah Tucker, Garry James Tucker, Decklan Owens and Xavia Tucker. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and husband Frank Tucker in 2014.
