Pearlie Mae Ames passed from this life on March 12, 2022, at the age of 86 in Prue, Oklahoma.
Pearl was born on May 31, 1935, in Vian, Oklahoma; the daughter of James Albert and Alta Belle (Montgomery) Seay. Pearl attended school and was raised in the Vian area. Later united in marriage on September 6, 1952, to Paul C Ames. The couple later moved to Tulsa where they raised their children. In the early 1960's, Pearl and Paul moved to Claremore remaining there until 1970. At that time in 1970, they moved to Prue, Oklahoma where she has continued to reside. Pearl owned and operated a day care in Prue for many years later gaining employment as a store manager at a local convenience store retiring in the late 1990's.
Pearl enjoyed playing wah-hoo, dominoes and doing word search puzzles. She spent many hours reading, especially the Bible. Camping, the trip to California and being with her family and grandkids were always memorable times. Watching Joyce Meyer and Joel Osteen were two of her favorites to watch.
Survivors are daughter Teresa Earnest of Prue, Oklahoma, three brothers George Seay of Gore, Oklahoma, Raymond Seay of Gore, Oklahoma, Frank Seay of Bella Vista, Arkansas; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Pearlie was preceded in death by her husband Paul Ames; parents James and Alta Seay; twin brother Bobby Seay, sister Hazel McClain, brother Earl Seay, brother Paul Seay, two sons Kenneth Ames and Bobby Ames.
Services will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the Prue Assembly of God Church with Curtis Pettyjohn and Garry McDevitt officiating. Burial will be held in the Prairie View Cemetery at Prue, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
