Pauline Jordan

Pauline Louise Jordan, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at her home in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, five months and fourteen days. 

Pauline was born July 19, 1925, in Denver, Colorado.  She was the daughter of Patrick and Celeste (Martin) Ciddio.  As a young girl Pauline grew up in Los   Angeles, California.  Pauline always talked about how beautiful of a place it was to grow up.  Following high school Pauline attended New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico.  She later returned to California and started a dancing career, working with the Hollywood movie studios as an extra in many musicals.  She later began working for Arthur Murray Dance Studios as a dance instructor and eventually purchased her own franchise.  As an Arthur Murray dancer, Pauline performed in the Hollywood nightclub circuit, and was a featured dancer in the Arthur Murray television show.  Pauline felt that was the most exciting part of her life, along with watching over her family. 

 Following retirement from her dancing career, Pauline and her mother moved to New Mexico.  Pauline gained employment as an Executive Secretary for the president of New Mexico Highlands University.  Pauline also taught ballroom dancing during her time at Highlands University, and assisted with choreography in some of the university's musical productions.

 In 1979, Pauline moved again with her mother this time to Oklahoma.  During her time in Cleveland, Pauline gained employment with Indian Electric Cooperative where she worked as dispatcher for over 15 years.  During that time Pauline and her mother became avid bowlers.  When she finally retired that was when she became really busy.  At that time she learned to paint, play the piano, continued knitting, crocheting, doing crafts and of course continued dancing.  

   Pauline wanted everyone to know her final thoughts:  "Looking back at my life, it was done and I am satisfied.  I did it all and I loved every minute of it, and now I am with my mom, sister and brother.  To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides.  I lived, loved and learned.  That is my legacy."

 Survivors are her three children Jody Baugh and her husband Robert of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Paula Martinez of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bobee Forrest of Albuquerque, New Mexico; seven grandchildren Todd Love, Paul Love, Michelle Love-Baker, Frank Schwartz, Monique Perez, Keith Cassin, Eva Ullibarri; thirteen great grandchildren Zachary, Ruby, Henry, Tyler, Alexa, Kyle, Hailea, Chanel, Andre, Eric, Ryan, Serena, , two great great grandchildren Julian, Israel and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing.  In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her brother Miley Tafoya and sister Ann Doughty. 

Chapel services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home with Rev. Dale  Gowdy officiating.  Private burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
