Paul Ray Lay passed from this life on April 12, 2021, at the age of 73, in Wynona, Oklahoma.
Paul was born on March 29, 1948, in Hominy, Oklahoma. Paul was the son of Jeff and Magdalene (Butler) Lay. He grew up and attended school in Wynona, Oklahoma graduating with the Class of 1966. On July 1, 1967, Paul was united in marriage to Patsy Moore in Wynona where they have continued to make their home. Paul gained employment with the Oklahoma State Highway Department later working at National Tank as a welder for over 10 years. Following the closure of the facility Paul accepted a position with Calumet Oil Company as a pumper. On April 2, 2013, Paul retired after 30 years.
In 1974, Paul purchased his family farm. He enjoyed working doing his life dream of tending to cattle and carrying on the family tradition. Paul always enjoyed being with his family and especially his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife Patsy of the home, two children Jeff Lay and his wife Rebecca of Wynona, Oklahoma, Stacie Haught and her husband Harold of Wynona, Oklahoma; one brother Marvin Lay and his wife Glenda of Bowlegs, Oklahoma; one sister Carol Brown and her husband Ron of Welch, Oklahoma; three grandchildren Shelby Haught, Lizzie Lay and Hannah Lay and a host of other relatives and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents Jeff and Magdalene Lay, one granddaughter Courtney Haught
Graveside services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, April 15, 2021, at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma with Pastor Mark Formby officiating. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Paul at www.chapman-black.com.
Pallbearers will include Rusty Lay, Jake Brown, Kenny McGlasson, Scott McGlasson, Jason Morris and Charles Morris.
