Patricia Ann Pettit was born October 8, 1948 in Shamrock, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Jack and Gladys (Castle) Jacobs. Following the divorce of her parents, Patricia was raised by her step-father and mother, Lloyd ìBillî and Gladys Jacobs Watts in the Shamrock and Drumright area until the summer of 1965 when they moved to Aurora, Colorado. Patricia attended Shamrock school through the completion of the eighth grade, Drumright High School and then graduated from Hinkley High School in Aurora, Colorado in 1966. Upon completion of her education, Patricia worked as a telephone switchboard operator for the YMCA, for Sky Chef and also Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in the Denver area over the next several five years. In February 1971, she met Paul T. Pettit and the couple was married on December 17, 1971 at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. The couple made their initial home in Denver and when Paul was assigned to duty in Southeast Asia, Patricia returned to Oklahoma and established their home in Catoosa to be near her mother. In 1975, the couple moved to Travis Air Force Base near Fairfield, California. Upon Paulís honorable discharge in 1979, the family moved to Saint Louis, Missouri following employment opportunities. They later returned to Oklahoma residing in Catoosa, Claremore and Inola; moving to their present home near Terlton in 1991. She served as the store manager for both the Cleveland and Mannford Showbiz Video store for many years. Patricia dedicated her life to her family, she enjoyed taking care of the home, spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren and especially loved cooking and baking for them. She will be remembered for carrying on and baking the family tradition of her motherís Oklahoma State Fair Award winning fudge recipe. She was an excellent floral designer and loved making table center pieces and working with flowers. She spent countless hours working in her flower garden which she maintained immaculately. Patricia was described by her family as a selfless and loving mother and grandmother that always placed her family as her top priority. She was an avid story teller and was an extremely kind person. She especially enjoyed preparing for and spending time with her family during the Christmas holiday season. She loved 50ís and 60ís, music considered as malt shop memories. She always recalled a memorable trip she had attending a New York Yankee game at old Yankee Stadium, The House That Ruth Built. Paul and Patricia were founding and charter members of the River of Living Waters Church in Bristow where they attended. Patricia passed from this life and went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at her home near Terlton with her loving family by her side. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Jacobs; mother, Gladys B. Jacobs-Castle; and a brother, Jack Jacobs, Jr. Patricia is survived by her husband, Paul T. Pettit of the home; three sons William Paul Robert Pettit of Shelton, Connecticut, Lance Heath Pettit of Terlton, Oklahoma and Luke Joshua Pettit of Olive, Oklahoma; a daughter, Andrea Theresa Pettit-Turner of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Ashley Pettit, Zachery Pettit, Haley Pettit, Daniel Turner, Jacob Pettit, Seth Pettit, Kaden Pettit and Lillian Turner. Following cremation a memorial service will be held at the family home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, pancreatic cancer research.
