Graveside services will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday October 8, 2003 at Prairie View Cemetery in Prue, Oklahoma with Pastor Bob Elfrink officiating under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.
Ozella Doretha Gilmore of Cleveland was born June 3, 1926 in Maumee, Arkansas to David Walter and Flora Alice (Keeling) Lay. As a young child the family moved to the Old Prue area where she was raised and received her education. In 1943 Ozella started attending Cleveland Schools where she later graduated. On June 9, 1955 Ozella was united in marriage to Harold Lee Gilmore in Ada, Oklahoma. They then moved to Arkansas City, Kansas. Ozella and Harold soon moved to Blackwell remaining there until the early 1960Ãs. They then moved to Chickasha for five years before moving to Wichita, Kansas. In 1969 Ozella and Harold made their home in the Cleveland Area. During their time here they also lived in the Prue area as well. Ozella worked at Katies, the Hickory House as well as Ugly JohnÃs as a cook for many years.
Ozella loved to watch OU Football and the Dallas Cowboys. She also loved to fish, crochet, camp and lately started wood crafts. Ozella would faithfully read her bible and loved to be with her family, children and grandchildren.
Ozella passed away October 6, 2003 in Cleveland, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years 4 months and 3 days. She was preceded in death by father, Mother, Husband Harold Gilmore 3 Brothers and 5 sisters.
Survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Tella and Gene Norris of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Rhonda and Denton Spencer of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Camille and Roy Barnard of Cleveland, Oklahoma; four grandchildren Jason Norris and wife Angela, Christen Norris, Kim Glasgow and Justin Barnard, three great-grandchildren, Haylee Jo Alexander, Hayden Lee Glasgow and Jake Wyatt Norris as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Roy Barnard, Gene Norris, Denton Spencer, Jason Norris, Justin Barnard, and Joe Alexander.
