Ouida Lane Edee Seaton was born February 8, 1928 in Hominy, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Harvey Ray and Ova Marie (Smith) Thompson. Edee was raised and received her education in Hominy.
Edee was united in marriage to Billy Bob Seaton on June 13, 1946 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. The couple had one daughter, Sharon. Although they traveled throughout the world following Billy's career as a foreman for Insulation Services, the couple always maintained their home in Cleveland. They returned to Cleveland permanently in the mid 1970's, when Billy Bob was forced to retire after an industrial accident in Illinois.
The couple continued to enjoy traveling after retirement and often would spent winter months in Mexico. Reluctantly, Edee agreed to go on a cruise which was a naval ship reunion for Billy Bob through the Panama Canal. After that cruise, Edee overcame her water concerns and the couple often would spend time cruising throughout the Caribbean. Edee was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Bob on December 18, 1999.
Edee was a member of both the local Order of the Eastern Star and Rebekah's. Additionally, she loved sewing and needle work. She was known for her concern for others and her care giving and nurturing personality. She was a quiet and soft spoken lady that enjoyed life without controversy or confrontation. Her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was evident in her daily walk and she enjoyed spending time with her Sunday School class members of the First Baptist Church. Edee was baptized at the First Baptist Church across from her home in Cleveland and has been a member of the church for over years.
She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Sharon and David Antal of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Eric Ledbetter of Las Vegas, Nevada and Brian Ledbetter of St. George, Utah; five great-grandchildren, Lindsey Marie Ledbetter, Brenna Nicole Ledbetter, Nathan Joseph Ledbetter, Brook and Brice Ledbetter; sisters, Nellie Lenora O'Kief of Hominy, Oklahoma and Juanita Darlene Dolan of Newport News, Virginia. In addition to her husband, Edee was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Lottie Mae, Rosie Margaret, Helen Marie, and Hazel Ruth; and three brothers, John Burl, Willie and Willard.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday at the Chapel of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
