Oscar Dill

Oscar Dill was born March 6, 1932 in West Point, Indiana to Oscar Alonzo and Elizabeth Sarah (Frodge) Dill. Oscar was raised and received his education in Northwest Indiana after graduation from high school he joined the United States Air Force. Oscar served in the Korean War ÖÖ.

Upon his return to the United States he began to attend Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He soon graduated from the aviation school with a degree in Air Frame and Power Plant. He accepted employment with the university in their aviation department where he remained for several years.

Oscar later accepted employment with American Airlines as a mechanic and moved to California in 1967. He was soon transferred to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1971. Oscar remained with American Airlines and was the Manager of Maintenance Operations until his retirement in 1993 after 26 Ω years of service. Oscar moved to his present home in 1974 where he has lived since. On August 30, 1979 Oscar was united in marriage to Helen Marie (Sutterfield) at Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Oscar loved horse racing, dog racing, coaching little baseball and was a avid sports fan during his youth and adult life. He also loved to travel with his wife Helen. Helen was a member of the American Legion Post 308, 40 and 8 in Tulsa, the Elks Lodge in Sand Springs as well as the VFW in Sapulpa.

Oscar passed away May 23, 2004 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years 2 months and 17 days. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Diana June Dill.

Survived by his loving wife of over 25 years Helen, of the home; children, David and wife Mona Dill of Redondo Beach, California; Elizabeth and husband David Taylor of Salt Lake City, Utah; Pam and husband Roger Spencer of Torrance, California; step children, Russell and wife Heather Kinney of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Lisa and husband Jeff Revis of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; brother Donald and wife Della Dill of Monticello, Indiana; sister Delores Czeck of Dyer, Indiana; half sister Patty and husband Ben Fisher of Monticello, Indiana; half brother Eugene and wife Barbara Allison of West Lafayette, Indiana; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild,

Funeral services will be Thursday May 27, 2004 at 3:00 pm in the Chapman-Black Chapel with Chuck Sloan officiating. Services are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial be made in memory of Oscar to the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Foundation or a charity of your choice.
